PipeBandPredictor (the "app") is operated by Surface Development, an independent organisation based in the United Kingdom. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how we use it.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Basic account information (such as name and email address) when you sign in using Apple, Google, or Facebook.
- A profile photo, if you choose to set one.
- The predictions you make, the leagues you join, and your accumulated scores.
- App usage data and interactions.
- Device and technical information (such as device type, operating system, and app version), including anonymous crash diagnostics used to improve app stability.
Authentication
We use third-party authentication providers (Apple, Google, and Facebook) to allow you to sign in. We do not receive or store your passwords. Authentication data is handled according to each provider's privacy policy.
Analytics
We collect anonymous usage analytics via Statsig to understand how the app is used and to improve its functionality. This includes events such as screen views, feature interactions, and error occurrences. No personally identifiable information, email addresses, or specific prediction choices are included in analytics data.
By using the app you consent to this data collection. You can opt out at any time via the Analytics toggle in the app's Settings screen.
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It sets no cookies, collects no personally identifiable information, and does not track you across sites.
How we use your data
- To operate the prediction game — rendering leaderboards, calculating scores, and displaying league memberships.
- To authenticate users.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
- To improve app performance and features.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising, and the app does not display advertisements.
Where data is stored and shared
Your data is stored with Supabase (our backend provider) in the European Union, and with Sanity (our content CMS) for the read-only competition data such as round names and dates. Both providers are GDPR-compliant.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers such as authentication and analytics partners, solely for app functionality.
Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the app and meet legal requirements.
Your rights
